Use the Bybit website for these steps, as API keys can’t be created in the app.
1
In the BIT Prime Brokerage portal, open Accounts → Open Account. On the CEFI tab, choose Application next to Bybit, then set:
  • Account’s Type: where it’s offered, the type the strategy needs, such as Portfolio Margin on Binance
  • Custody: Bybit with no external Custody
  • Account’s Api: Create API by yourself
Choose Confirm and complete the verification. BIT usually approves the sub-account within a day. Then, in Accounts → My Accounts, choose Login Info on its row for the sub-account’s login, and log in to it for the steps below.
The other custody options, such as Ceffu, Copper or Oasis, are only needed if you’re taking out a loan through BIT. If you are, ask BIT which one to choose, and make sure every sub-account you apply for is in the same risk control unit (RCU): confirm both with your BIT contact.
2

Check Cross Margin

In the sub-account, open Assets → Unified Trading. The badge next to the title should read Cross Margin. If it doesn’t, choose the badge to open Choose Margin Mode, then choose Setting under Cross Margin.
3

Set one-way mode

On the USDT perpetual trading page, for example BTCUSDT, open the menu at the top right → Preference Settings. On the Trade tab, check Margin Mode reads Cross Margin, then open Position Mode, choose One-Way Mode, tick Apply to all pairs and Confirm.
4

Create the read-only key

In Blockhouse, on the Bybit tab of the Credentials step, choose Copy → Comma on the Read-only API IPs.On Bybit, in the sub-account, open your profile icon → API → Create New Key → System-generated API Keys and set:
  • API Key Usage: API Transaction
  • Name for the API key: for example Blockhouse read-only
  • API Key Permissions: Read-Only
  • Only IPs with permissions granted are allowed to access the OpenAPI, then paste the IPs
  • Tick everything under Unified Trading (Orders, Positions, USDC Derivatives Trading and SPOT Trade) and under Assets (Account Transfer, Subaccount Transfer and Convert Exchange History), which on a read-only key only read those records. Leave Earn off.
Choose Submit and enter your 2FA code. Paste the key and secret into Read-only API Key and Read-only API Secret in Blockhouse straight away, as Bybit shows the secret only once. Tick IPs are whitelisted for read-only API.
5

Create the trading key

In Blockhouse, choose Copy → Comma on the Trading API IPs, then create a second key on Bybit the same way, for example Blockhouse trading, with Read-Write and those IPs. Tick everything under Unified Trading: Orders, Positions, USDC Derivatives Trading and SPOT Trade.Leave Earn and everything under Assets off, so the key can’t move funds. Choose Submit, enter your 2FA code, paste the key and secret into Trading API Key and Trading API Secret, and tick IPs are whitelisted for trading API.
6

Finish in Blockhouse

In the BIT Prime Brokerage portal, open Accounts → My Accounts. In the Sub-account List, copy the Account Number for Bybit, for example 1234567__000001. In Blockhouse, on the Bybit tab, enter it in BIT account number for Bybit.Check that every key field on the tab is filled in and both IP boxes are ticked. Set up any other exchange from the BIT guide, then submit the Credentials step.
