# Enable trading

> Approve a trading key and routing so the terminal can place your orders.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Deposit first: Hyperliquid won't approve a trading key for an account that has never held funds. See [Deposit](https://docs.blockhouse.app/trade/deposit.md).

**1. Choose Enable trading**

On the order ticket, choose **Enable trading**.

**2. Create the trading key**

Leave **Stay connected on this device** ticked unless you're on a shared computer, then choose **Enable trading**. If your wallet asks to switch to Arbitrum, approve it, then sign.

**3. Approve routing**

Choose **Approve routing** and sign. You do this once per wallet. It allows a **Max fee** of 0.020%, which Blockhouse receives for routing your orders to Hyperliquid.

A trading key lasts 7 days. To renew or revoke it, choose your wallet address in the top bar, then **Wallet details**.
