# Step 1: Account Information

> Who will own the account. These details go on your SMA.

**1. Choose an account type**

Choose **Individual** if the account is for yourself, or **Business** if you represent an entity.

**2. Enter your legal details**

Enter your legal name and address exactly as they should appear on your [SMA](https://docs.blockhouse.app/reference/glossary.md#sma). For a business, also enter the name and title of the person with authority to sign for it.

Then choose **Continue** to go to [Step 2: Strategy Configuration](https://docs.blockhouse.app/open-an-account/strategy-configuration.md).
