# Close an account

> Ask the desk to close a strategy account and return its balance.

Closing an account is a full withdrawal. Once the desk approves your request, the strategy winds down its positions and the desk tells you when the funds are ready to withdraw. The funds stay in your custody throughout.

**1. Choose Close Account**

In **Manage accounts**, choose **⋮** → **Close Account** on the account.

**2. Pick a date**

Pick an **Intended closure date** at least the strategy's notice period away, usually 7 days. You can add a note with your reason; if there's anything we can do to accommodate you, we'd like to hear it.

**3. Request closure**

Choose **Request Closure**. The account shows **Closure Requested** until the desk decides, and you'll get an email and a notification when it does.

Once the account is closed, revoke its API keys on each exchange.
