# How Blockhouse works

> Three ways to use Blockhouse. In each, your funds stay in your control.

| | What it is | You'll need |
| - | - | - |
| [Strategy account](https://docs.blockhouse.app/open-an-account.md) | A Blockhouse systematic trading strategy running on exchange sub-accounts you own via a prime broker, under an [SMA](https://docs.blockhouse.app/reference/glossary.md#sma) | A login, and a prime broker account that opens exchange sub-accounts for you |
| [Vault](https://docs.blockhouse.app/vaults.md) | USDC you deposit from your wallet into an on-chain vault that lends to a credit facility | A wallet with USDC on Ethereum |
| [Terminal](https://docs.blockhouse.app/trade.md) | Trading Hyperliquid perpetuals from your own wallet | A wallet with USDC on Arbitrum |

Blockhouse never holds your funds: they stay in your exchange sub-accounts, in the vault contracts or in your Hyperliquid account. On strategy accounts, Blockhouse trades through API keys that can't withdraw.

The full terms are in the [Terms of Service](https://www.blockhouse.app/legal/terms-of-service).
