# Connect a wallet

> The terminal and the vault use a wallet you connect, not a login.

A wallet isn't a Blockhouse login. The terminal and the vault both use the wallet connected to your browser, so you don't need a login for either, and signing in or out of Blockhouse doesn't connect or disconnect it.

On the terminal, your funds stay in your own Hyperliquid account, which your wallet controls. The vault is different: the USDC you deposit is lent out, and you hold [shares](https://docs.blockhouse.app/reference/glossary.md#shares) in return. A withdrawal settles when the lending cycle ends and the capital is repaid, as [Withdraw and claim](https://docs.blockhouse.app/vaults/withdraw-and-claim.md) explains.

| | Connect | Fund it with |

| Terminal | [Connect a wallet](https://docs.blockhouse.app/trade/connect-a-wallet.md) | Crypto on a supported chain, sent to your deposit address from any wallet you control. It arrives as USDC in your Hyperliquid account. See [Deposit](https://docs.blockhouse.app/trade/deposit.md). |
| Vault | [Connect a wallet](https://docs.blockhouse.app/vaults/connect-a-wallet.md) | USDC on Ethereum, in the wallet you connect. See [Before you deposit](https://docs.blockhouse.app/vaults/before-you-deposit.md). |
